Why do we age?
Our faces and entire body age with time. There are two fundamental processes: the natural ageing process that occurs over the course of our lives, and the circumstantial ageing process that depends on our environment and how we live and care for our bodies. Both these processes contribute to the ageing signs that we see in our skin such as wrinkles, fine lines, loss of firmness and other imperfections.
While we cannot completely halt the ageing process, we can take steps to help our body and skin to maintain a younger look for longer. With proper care and attention, the avoidance of harmful chemicals and other causes of skin condition decline, and the choice of the right products to help us along the way, we can create a balanced, healthy, nourished look for our skin.
Our genetics play an important part in how we age. As we get older it is common for us to experience drier skin, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, larger and more open pores, a lack of firmness and elasticity in the skin and fine lines around the mouth. This is caused by the natural reduction in collagen, elastin and other protein fibres, the production of which reduces with age.
Women in particular may notice these changes caused by menopause, resulting in a slower rejuvenation of skin, as well as the skin taking on a thinner appearance, among other changes.External and environmental factors which affect ageing.
Many different factors outside of our genetic make-up also affect how we age. These include our environmental circumstances such as our level of exposure to UV rays and pollution, and factors related to our lifestyles including our sleeping habits, stress levels, use of tobacco, diet and alcohol intake, and use of products that may harm the skin. Research indicates that exposure to UV rays and pollution are the factors which have the biggest impact on our tendencies toward accelerated ageing.
It is never too late to incorporate new products into our skincare routine. Ideally we should try to incorporate habits and practices that prevent deterioration and promote care and protection for healthy, nourished skin. This means wearing sunscreen to counteract the harmful effects of UV rays and using an antioxidant serum rich in vitamin C during the day.
Our Super C Facial Serum is specially designed to help counteract the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes, as well as helping with lack of elasticity and moisture. As well as being rich in vitamin C, the serum contains hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and witch-hazel.
Bio-retinol helps greatly to regenerate and rejuvenate the skin. Bio-retinol aids in the reduction of visible blemishes, improves skin texture, moisturizes the skin, reverses the effects of sun damage, closes pores and effectively regulates oil production among other benefits.
We can also help our body with a balanced diet, exercising and above all......having fun!
